The Service Window

The dreaded service window.  You know, that awful no-mans-land when you call your cable company and they tell you they’ll be there sometime between noon and 4.  Seriously?! I want to know what genius thought up this consumer torture practice because I’ve got some choice words to impart upon this person. 

Honestly…no other service oriented business could survive with such a crack-pot scheme.  Imagine if you called Domino’s for a pizza and they told you that it’d be delivered sometime between 8pm and 11pm.  I’m sure you’d tell them where they can stick their pizza pie.  

And, of course, due to the laws of service window nature, you will NOT be at the front of the queue.  The cable company will show up at the very last minute or often late.  By the time all is said and done, you’ve wasted half your day.  

 Sheesh.  There’s got to be a better way.  The things we’ll put up with to fuel our entertainment addiction huh?
