Stranger Than Fiction
I just finished up a second round of physical therapy for my back today, and I was reminded of my first time at PT.
About three years back I underwent physical therapy for a back injury. My physical therapist was a nice enough guy, a little…off, but nice enough. My back got better (thankfully!) and I found myself at my last appointment. It was the end of my appointment and my therapist turned to me, paused, looked me into the eye and said, “Thank you. I want to thank you for…sharing your love. It’s been great.”
Umm…whoa. I didn’t really know how to respond to this. I’m pretty sure I stammered out a, “You’re welcome.”, but sheesh. It sounds stranger than it actually was. I’m pretty sure it was just his way of saying goodbye…but still, honestly, how often have you said goodbye to somebody, other than a family member, by saying “Thank you for sharing your love?” Yeah, that’s what a thought.
I don’t know…that encounter has always stuck with me. Heck, it’s a good story. Plus, it’s stuff like that that makes life interesting. So with that, dear reader, I leave you with this: “Thank you for sharing your love.”
